Ruth M. Davis är pensionerad advokat och en konservativ kristen. År 2009 grundade hon New Matthew Bible (NMB) Project i syfte att varsamt uppdatera Matthew Bible, utgiven 1537, för modernt bruk. NMB:s Nya testamente har nu publicerats som The October Testament. Ruth har även publicerat The Story of the Matthew Bible i två delar. Del 1 handlar om MB:s tillkomst. Del 2 granskar revideringar av Skrifterna fram till modern tid, med särskilt beaktande av Genèvebibeln (1560) och den reviderade versionen av King James Version (1894).

Ruth M. Davis is a retired lawyer and conservative Christian. In 2009 she founded the New Matthew Bible (NMB) Project, dedicated to gently updating the 1537 Matthew Bible for today. The NMB New Testament has now been published as The October Testament. Ruth also published The Story of the Matthew Bible in two parts. Part 1 is about the making of the MB. Part 2 looks at revisions to the Scriptures until modern times, especially considering the 1560 Geneva Bible and the 1894 Revised Version.
I Biblicum nr 2/2017 publicerades en artikel av teol dr Gottfried Herrmann i svensk översättning av Henrik Landgraf: Luther och toleransen. Den tar upp samma fråga, och dessutom Luthers förhållande till förföljelse av döparna.
